Mosque of Suleiman in Rhodes

Mosque of Suleiman (Suleymaniye Cami Mosque) reminds the Turkish period of Rhodes city history. The mosque was built shortly after the Turks conquered the city. Turkish troops have forced the Knights to leave the city in 1522. On the mosque place was before Christian Church (Church of the Apostles). The mosque was built in honor of the victory the Ottoman army in war against the Knights. You can easily find the Mosque of Suleiman in the northwestern part of the Old Town of Rhodes, near the Grand Masters Palace.
