Monument to Peter the Great is located near the Vyborg Castle. The monument was originally installed in 1910. Monument several times removed and installed again in place, depending on which country owned the town. Vyborg was captured from Sweden in 1710 by Tsar Peter the Great in the Great Northern War. Peter the Great is the founder of Saint Petersburg.
