Marshal Mannerheim monument

Equestrian monument of Marshal Mannerheim is located on the Mannerheimintie Street in Helsinki, close to the museum of Contemporary Art “Kiasma”. This is one of the most famous monuments in Helsinki and an important landmark of the city.
Mannerheim had played an important role in the struggle for the independence of Finland. The monument opening took place June 4, 1960.
The total height of the bronze monument along with a granite pedestal is 11.7 meters. Sculpture author is Aimo Tukiaisen.
