World Championship Figure Skating Championships 2011 will take place in Moscow

World Championship figure skating was to be held 21-27 March in Tokyo (Japan). But happened devastating earthquake and tsunami caused tremendous damage to Japan. Holding the World Cup has become impossible. Championship had to be moved to another country. The right to host this tournament claimed the United States, Canada, Croatia, Russia and Finland. According to the accepted today by International Skating Union (ISU) decision the World Championship held in Moscow. Dates of events were also postponed.

New dates for the championship of the world are from April 25 to May 1. Dates of events were also moved. New dates for the World Cup are from April 25 to May 1. As previously announced the by minister of sport, tourism and youth policy of Russia Vitaly Mutko World Championships will be held at the Ice Palace Megasport. Management Board Figure Skating Federation of Russia promised that it could provide the accelerated receiving entry visas to Russia as for the guests and participants.
