Shostakovich Academic Philharmonic in Saint Petersburg

The Saint Petersburg Philharmonic is the place where you can hear classical music performed by the best musicians. The philharmonic Orchestra is one of the best in Russia. The philharmonic has two concert halls and a library.

The St. Petersburg Philharmonic is the oldest in Russia. It dates back to the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Society, which was organized in 1803.
The philharmonic hall was built in 1839 by architect Paul Jacot for Noble Assembly of St. Petersburg. The facade of the building was designed by Carlo Rossi.

Grand Hall of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic is one of the best concert halls in Europe. Big Philharmonic Hall located at address: Mikhailovskaya Street 2, St. Petersburg. Hall can accommodate more than 1,500 people. Great Hall was built in 1839 for the Noble Assembly of Saint Petersburg.

Small Philharmonic Hall is located at Nevsky Prospekt 30. The hall was opened on 15 May 1949. It is located in an old building, designed by architect Rastrelli (the building also known as the “House of Engelhardt”). Hall has good acoustic properties and is considered one of the best chamber music halls in the world.

The nearest metro station is Nevski Prospekt.
