Sports and Concert Center "Peterburgsky" (abbreviation SKK is often used by Russians) is one of the largest sports facilities in St. Petersburg. Sport & Concert Centre is located in the southern part of the city, near the Moscow Victory Park, at a distance approximately 8 kilometers from the city center (Palace Square). Exhibitions, concerts, sporting events and other activities are regularly held in the Sports and Concert Center.
The reconstruction of the sports center is currently underway. A new sports center is planned to be built by May 2023.
Sport & Concert Centre was opened May 19, 1980, shortly before the 1980 Olympic Games. At that time it was a modern building with a convertible arena. Major sporting events in various sports were held there.
Complex seating capacity is about 25 thousand spectators. The height of the main part is about 40 meters, diameter 160 meters. The total area of the St. Petersburg Sport and Concert Complex is more than 50 000 square meters. The area around the Sport-Concert Complex is about 380,000 square meters and provides an opportunity to make arrangements for large numbers of visitors.
Capabilities of the center allow organize large-scale competition in virtually all sports, concerts, entertainment events, dance performances, major exhibitions and business events.
