Flame torch design was presented for Sochi Olympic Games

Preparing for the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi continues. Flame torch design was presented recently in Moscow.

Olympic torch has made of aluminum alloy and transparent plastic. Colors for the Olympic Games torch are light silver and red (for the Paralympic silver and light blue).

The torch weighs is about 1.8 kg, height - 0,95 m, width - 0.145 m (at widest point).
It is scheduled to produce 14,000 torches for the Olympic Games and the 1000 torches for the Paralympic fire.

Olympic "Sochi 2014" flame relay on Russian territory will begin October 7, 2013. The Olympic flame will carry 14 000 people in 2900 cities across Russia. The flame route will by 65 000 kilometers long. Olympic torch relay will last 123 days.

The Olympic flame will carry from Moscow to the Far East and to Sochi. It will be at the North Pole, on the bottom of Lake Baikal and on Elbrus Mountain. (And also, perhaps, the flame torch will fly into space.)
