Venetian glass is known all over the world. In 1291, the City Council of Venice, decided to transfer the production of glass on the Murano Island (fire prevention and preservation of trade secrets). Since then, the term spread as “Murano glass”.

Several producing of art glass workshops is located in the historic center of Venice for tourists. You can see the work of glassblower by own eyes and buy beautiful glass products. The same products can be bought at many shops in Venice and other Italian cities.

The photograph shows a glassmaker at work. Right before our eyes, a couple of minutes, he made a glass horse. (You can see some on the foreground of the photo.)

The photo was taken during a tourist trip to Italy in February 2013.
