Sphinxes on the Neva River embankment in St. Petersburg. Sphinxes are located on Vasilevsky Island in St. Petersburg, on the University embankment (next to the house number 17 and next to the “Blagoveschenski most” bridge). Sphinxes were brought to St. Petersburg from Egypt in 1832. Ages of sphinxes are approximately 3,500 years.

The nearest metro station is Vasilyeostrovskaya.
Picture was taken in July 2013.

On the opposite bank of the Neva is visible Saint Isaac's Cathedral.
