Red Square

Moscow Red Square Moscow Red Square is the most visited place in Moscow. Moscow Kremlin is located there. It is not only a monument of architecture, but also the official residence of president of Russia. St. Basil’s Cathedral, one of the most famous churches of Russia, is located on the Red Square.

The Moscow Kremlin

The Moscow Kremlin The Moscow Kremlin is the most famous landmark of Moscow and Russia. “Spasskaya” tower of Moscow Kremlin is one of the symbols of Moscow. The Kremlin is located on the left bank of the “Moskva River”, on a Borovitsky hill.
The Kremlin is the oldest part of the Moscow, surrounded by a fortified wall. Length of the walls of the Moscow Kremlin is about 2500 meters. There are 20 towers along the perimeter of fortress wall. There are a lot of interest in the territory of Kremlin: Armory, The Diamond Fund , the Assumption Cathedral, Archangel Cathedral , Cathedral of the Annunciation , the Patriarch 's Palace and the Church of the Twelve Apostles , the bell tower of Ivan the Great, Tsar Bell, Tsar Cannon.

The territory of the Moscow Kremlin and its museums are open daily, except Thursdays, from 10.00 to 17.00. Moscow Kremlin may be closed for tourists during some events. Ticket office is located in the Alexandrovsky Garden, near the exit of the metro stations “Aleksandrovskiy Sad” and
“Biblioteka imeni Lenina”.

Sparrow Hills

Sparrow Hills (Воробьёвы горы, Vorob’yovy Gory) is the name of the area with hills in the south-west of Moscow, on the right bank of the Moskva River. The Luzhniki Stadium is located on the other bank of the river (opposite). It is one of the highest points in Moscow, reaching a height of 60 – 70 meters (200–230 ft.) above the river level. It was named “Leninskiye Gory” from 1935 to 1999.
There are Moscow State University buildings located on the Sparrow Hills. Sparrow Hills observation deck is popular offers a beautiful view of the city. The observation deck on the Sparrow Hills is one of the popular holiday destinations of the residents of Moscow. This place is also popular with tourists. Sparrow Hills also has a ski jump and ski slope. It hosts a variety of sports and public events.

Gorky Park

Gorky Park (Gorky Central Park of Culture and Leisure, Центральный парк культуры и отдыха имени Горького, ЦПКиО) is one of the most famous Moscow parks. It is one of the best and most famous parks in Europe. The park covers an area about 119 hectares. There is an open air ice skating rink in the park in winter (the largest in Europe). Gorky Park often hosts performances of artists, bands, live shows, folk festivals on holidays and weekends. The park is visited by over than 100,000 people by a day on weekends and holidays. There are a pond, boat station (you can rent a boat), tennis courts, children's play areas, outdoor cafes, bike rental and more in the Gorky Park.
It is the most convenient way to get to the park from metro stations “Oktyabrskaya” and “Park Kultury”. Entrance to the park is free.

Tsaritsyno

Tsaritsyno is a popular historic architectural open-air museum. Tsaritsyno museum is located in the south of Moscow. Construction of Tsaritsyno royal residence began in 1776 by Empress Catherine II. The palace and park complex covers an area over 100 hectares. There are many interesting buildings, such as the Grand Palace, Temple of Our Lady, an opera house located in the Tsaritsyno museum.

Kolomenskoye

Kolomenskoye is a popular state historical and architectural museum. It is situated to the south of the centre of Moscow and covers an area about 390 hectares. Kolomenskoye village was located on the road from Moscow to the Kolomna town. The first written mention of the village of Kolomenskoye refers to 1336. For many years, it was the domain of Moscow grand dukes. It was also one of the residences of Russian tsars. Kolomenskoye lost its meaning after the transfer of the capital of Russia in St. Petersburg. The “Kolomenskoye” museum was founded in 1923. Kolomenskoye is part of the city of Moscow now. The “Kolomenskoe” museum is monument of Russian architecture of the 16th - 18th centuries.

Izmailovo Kremlin

The Kremlin in Izmailovo is a cultural and entertainment complex, located in the Eastern Administrative District of Moscow. The buildings of the “Izmailovo Kremlin” are a modern structure, built in the style of the Old Russian architecture. There are several museums, art workshops, wedding palace and business center in the Izmailovo. There are held many public events in the “Kremlin in Izmailovo”.
