Spain expects growth in the number of tourists

According to current information this year in the tourist industry of Spain is expected significant growth the number of foreign tourists. Since the beginning of this year, Spain visited significantly more tourists than in the same period last year. The total number of foreign tourists in February was 5.689 million (an increase 8%). From this quantity 2,571 million people made trips to Spain for one day (up 4.4%). The remaining amount came with the purpose of tourism for a longer period (3,117 million, an increase of 11.2%).

According to statistics, the largest number of tourists to Spain from the beginning of the year came from the UK.

  • Britain : 636,800 people ( 20.4 % of the total number of tourists, an increase of 11.4 %).
  • France: 501 700 people. (16.1 % of the total number of tourists, an increase of 12% ) .
  • Germany : 496,700 people. (15.9 % of the total number of tourists, an increase of 13.4 %).

Countries need tourists because they bring money. During the first two months of 2014, foreign tourists spent in Spain 9.1% more money than in the previous year. While average spending per tourist fell 2.4%, to 985 euros. Large growth in revenues from tourists showed Canary Islands (14.4%), Andalusia (15.3%) and Madrid (12.1%). Most of all in Spain in this year spend British and Germans, are folloved by visitors from Scandinavia.
