Moscow is the largest city of Russia. The high concentration of government institutions and commercial enterprises is a big problem here. The city is very high density of population. The need to expand the borders of Moscow, Dmitry Medvedev, said in mid-June, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
New Moscow
According to the plan Moscow area will increase almost 2.4 times. Today the city covers an area of 107 hectares. If the plans are implemented, the territory of Moscow will increase to 251 thousand hectares. For city will be annexed land located in south-west direction and is now owned by the Moscow region. This area is located between Varshavsky to Kievsky highway.
In new areas proposed to build 105 million square meters of real estate, which is 10 times larger than the current rate (12 million square meters). In the new Moscow will be built 60 million square meters of housing (to be relocated here about 2 million people).
Exploration and development of new areas will demand about 20 years.
A more detailed project will be ready next year. This will be the biggest social-economic projects in the coming years. Government agencies will leave the city center.

Luxury and wealth in Moscow are close to the poverty and squalor. It is now possible to build a new Moscow to the most influential and wealthy. It will be possible to design the roads so that the way the rich and the poor do not overlap. We can assume that it will be comfortable and luxurious city. On the construction of the new city will spend a lot of taxpayer’s money from the budgets of Russia and Moscow.
