The “Aeroport” metro station (станция метро Аэропорт) in MoscowKremlin and Red Square). The station is located near the Ernst Telmann square, at the intersection streets of “Leningradsky Prospect”, Chernyakhovskogo, Victorenko and Ostryakova. The station is located on “Zamoskvoretskaya” Moscow metro line (line 3, green line) between stations Dynamo and Sokol. Distance to Moscow ring road (MKAD) is about 9 kilometers.
The “Aeroport” metro station was opened September 11, 1938. The station is located at depth about 10 meters. The first Central Moscow airport (closed in 2013) was located near the station. This explains the choice of the station name. During World War II the station served as a bomb shelter (as well as many other metro stations).

The station has two ground-based vestibules. One of the vestibules is located in the building at Leningradsky Prospect 62 (next to the Pervaya Aeroportovskaya street), the second lobby is located approximately 200 meters north-west (near the intersection of Leningradsky Prospekt and Chernyakhovskaya street). The station also has access to the underpass under the Leningradsky prospect street.
