The station opened on December 30, 2010. The station lobby is located in the shopping center at the intersection of Ligovsky Prospect and Obvodny channel embankment. The station underground hall is located at a depth about 60 meters.
It is planned to build the station "Karetnaya" on Krasnoselsko-Kalininskaya metro line and connect it by transfer with Obvodny Kanal station.
