Metro Station Academicheskaya in St. Petersburg (станция метро Академическая) is located in the north-eastern part of the city, at the intersection of Prospect Nauki and Grazhdansky Prospekt streets. The distance from the station to the city center (Palace Square) is approximately 10 kilometers.
Academicheskaya station is located on the Kirovsko-Vyborgskaya line of Petersburg metro (line 1, red line) between stations "Polytehnicheskaya" and "Grazhdansky Prospect".
The station was opened 31 December 1975. The station vestibule is located in a separate building, at the intersection of Prospect Nauki and Grazhdansky Prospekt streets. The station underground hall is located at a depth about 57 meters below the ground surface. In the design of the station hall was used elements made of stainless steel.
