Smolenskaya metro stations in Moscow are located at a distance about 2.4 km to west of the Red Square, not far from Smolenskaya Square. There are two Smolenskaya stations in Moscow on two subway lines. Currently, the station is not connected to each other by the transition. It is impossible to move to another metro line here. The distance between stations ground vestibules is about 200 meters.
Smolenskaya metro station of Filevskaya Moscow metro line (line 4, the blue line) is located between stations "Arbatskaya" and "Kievskaya". The station was opened on 15 May 1935. The station vestibule is built into the building on the outside of the Garden Ring (near 2nd Nikoloshepovsky lane). Underground station hall located at a depth about 8 meters below the ground surface.
Smolenskaya metro station of Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya Moscow metro line (line 3, blue line) is also located between stations "Arbatskaya" and "Kievskaya". The station was opened on April 5, 1953.
The station ground lobby is located in a separate building in the courtyard of the house 54 at Arbat Street. Passengers can get on Arbat street and Smolenskaya Square (Garden Ring) from the station. The station underground hall is located at a depth about 50 meters below the ground surface.
Currently stations are not connected by passage. It is planned (2020) construction of the station Plyushchikha on Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya subway line (line 8, yellow line). This station will be connected to both Smolenskaya metro stations.
