Spassky Cathedral of of the Andronikov Monastery is one of the oldest buildings on the territory of Moscow, a monument of architecture of the XV century. The church is located on the territory of the monastery, at a distance of approximately 3 kilometers from Red Square and the Kremlin kilometers to the east.

The exact date of construction of the temple is unknown. It is believed that the church was built in the period from 1420 to 1425 years. Later the temple was repeatedly repaired and rebuilt. It is impossible to determine how closely it matches the original.

Andronicus Monastery was founded in 1357 by Metropolitan Alexy. The monastery is located on the left bank of the Yauza River, near the waterfront Andronievskaya.
