Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has offered to take fingerprints of all foreigners entering the country. This topic will be discussed by Interior Ministry experts and the Russian Foreign Ministry. Perhaps foreigners coming to Russia have to undergo fingerprinting procedure in 2017. This can help to find the criminals and the identification of those killed in the disasters.

Russian citizens are required to be fingerprinted for a Schengen visa from September 2015. Thus, the Russian government supported the initiative of their European counterparts.

Will this affect the number of tourists coming to Russia? Probably will not. But it would be better to simplify the border crossing procedure for residents of Russia, and for the citizens of other countries.

Currently, only migrants who apply for a work permit fingerprints need to be fingerprinted.
