Not only young people love to travel. Many older people also do not like to stay at home. Where to go if you are already over 55? In Moscow they offer - come to Moscow again, even if you have already been to the capital of Russia.
The Moscow government has prepared a new program to support the tourism industry: tour operators organizing trips to the capital for citizens over the age of 55 will be able to partially offset their expenses from the city.
It is reported that the basic amount of compensation will be 1,000 rubles for each tourist over the age of 55, but may be more. (Depends on the length of stay in Moscow, hotel category, number of excursions purchased, events attended.)
This was reported on the official website of the mayor of the capital. The Moscow government believes that such a move will be an incentive for travel companies that will begin to create more profitable and diverse offers for senior travelers.
Compensation is provided for trips organized from June 1 to December 21, 2022.
This does not mean that we, tourists, will receive this money. The travel organizer (tour operator) will receive the compensation. The tour operator may give us a discount, or not, but it is believed that the tour operators will make more efforts to lure us (aged tourists) to Moscow.
And what, we do not mind, in Moscow there is something to do for tourists!
