To travel or not to travel? That is the question!

covid-19 restrictions Almost all countries strive to develop tourism, seek to attract more tourists from other countries and regions. Tourism creates jobs, brings income to people and the country's budget. In some countries, tourism revenue is a significant share. Tourism is especially important for countries that are located on the coast and have a comfortable climate.

But the situation has changed significantly in 2020. The travel industry has been influenced by COVID-19. Travelers can bring not only money, but also the virus with them. The pandemic has already claimed many lives. Pandemic control is very expensive.

Allow travel or not allow? Open borders or keep them closed (for tourists)? This is not an easy question. Countries in which the epidemic is waning decide when borders can be opened and tourists invited.

Tourists can give jobs to many people. This will support hotels, restaurants, travel and transportation companies, provide income to people and bring income to the country's budget.

But if tourists bring the virus with them and cause a new epidemic outbreak, the fight against the epidemic will be very expensive.
What will be more? Tourist income or medical expenses?

The tourist season does not last long and a decision must be made quickly.

It should also be taken into account, that in addition to tourists who come, there are also local residents who will leave to other countries. They will take part of the money with them and may bring the virus with them when they return. The development of domestic tourism can be considered safer and to some extent beneficial. But for most countries, domestic tourism will not be able to recover the income from foreign tourists.

In addition to money, tourism provides something more. Traveling is an amazing opportunity to communicate, get to know other cities, countries, people. We hope that we will get the opportunity to travel, maybe very soon.

To travel or not to travel? That is the question!

(According to information available today, The United States already opens beaches and national parks, Turkey may allow travel from mid-June, Greece may open borders for tourists on July 1, Russia considers the development of domestic tourism this year to be a priority.) Look also: countries.

It seems to us that this will be the safest way to travel this year:
