Goteborg International Film Festival

International Film Festival in Gothenburg (Göteborg International Film Festival) is one of the most famous festivals in Scandinavia. St.Patrick's Day Parade.

St. Patrick's Day is the national day of Ireland, which is celebrated annually in many countries on March 17. The holiday has been held in Stockholm since 2005. Easter at Skansen

Walpurgis Night, or Valborgsmässoafton, is one of the major spring festivals in Stockholm. It is a celebration of spring meeting. During a holiday in Skansen will be held parade, concerts and dance performances. Festivities take place all day and continue the evening and at night by firelight. Full program can withstand only the youth. Perhaps the most noisy and cheerful festival in Sweden .

Eurovision 2024

The 67th Eurovision Song Contest was held in May 2023 in Liverpool (UK). The winner of "Eurovision-2023" competition was Loreen from Sweden, who wowed audiences with her hit song "Tattoo".
The next Eurovision Song Contest 2024 will be held in May 2024 in Malmö, SwedenSweden.
The contest will be held at the Malmö Arena, and will consist of two semi-finals on 7 and 9 May, and a final on 11 May 2024.
Outdoor Festival STHLM

Stockholm Marathon

In recent years it has become popular to organize marathon run in many cities of the world. First marathon run was held in Stockholm in 1979. In Stockholm Marathon (Adidas Stockholm Marathon) will take part athletes and running fans from many countries. Marathon finish is located at the Olympic Stadium (Stockholm Stadium). Competition will begin at 12.00 on the street "Lidingövägen", next to the stadium. Runners will be divided into two groups and will start every 10 minutes. Expected to more than 21,500 sportsmans.
Exhibition Marathon Expo, party Pasta Party and Post Race Celebration festival is the traditional components of the holiday.

Sweden Day

Sweden Day is celebrated on the open-air museum Skansen in a big way. On this day in Skansen also arrive royal family of Sweden. Festivities will be held in other parts of the city.
June 6, 1523 was crowned Gustav Vaasa, the first king of Sweden. From this day Sweden became a fully independent state. On this day in 1809 a constitution was adopted in Sweden. For these reasons, the festival is celebrated exactly on June 6. Since 1916, this day was celebrated Flag Day. Since 1983, this day was celebrated the National Day of Sweden. Since 2006 he has been declared a public holiday. Until now, not all Swedes believe that such a holiday is needed. Their opinion: "Why do we need the National Day, when we have Midsummer? Midsummer's eve
June 21 - 23, 2024.
Many believe that it (Midsummer's eve, Easter witches, witches Easter, Midsummer Day) is most popular holiday in Sweden (and Christmas). Every year on December 13, thousands of young girls dressed in white, with a burning candle in their hand and a crown decorated with burning (electric) candles, “illuminate the darkness of the Swedish winter night.”
This tradition is already about 400 years old. Events are held in churches, schools, hospitals and workplaces across the country.
