Carnaval de Paris

The theme of the carnival in 2020 is "A fabulous air world" (Un fabuleux monde aérien).
Paris Carnival (Carnaval de Paris) is an annual event, which traces its history back to the 15th century. Carnival parade starts from the Gambetta square (the nearest metro station Gambetta, 20th arrondissement); along the Belleville Street through Republic Square (place de la République). Parade starts at 14:00. The festivities will continue until 21:00 on the Republic Square (de la place de la République).

Madonna concert

Dates: February 18, - March 01, 2020.

Madonna will perform a series of 10 exceptional concerts For the release of her 14th album, Madame X.

14th March 2020.
Saint Patrick’s Day celebrations will be Tuesday March 17, 2020.
St Patrick’s Day Parade will take place on Saturday 14th March at 13:00.
The parade will assemble and depart from the Centre Culturel Irlandais on the rue des Irlandais in the 5th arrondissement. The parade will depart at 13:30.

Women carnival

March 22, 2020.

Carnival of women is one of the annual events in Paris. It is usually around starting at 01:00 at place du Châtelet. The procession route usually is: Départ de la place du Châtelet, Boulevard Sébastopol, Traversée de la rue de Rivoli, Rue de Rivoli, Rue Saint-Martin, Rue Saint-Merri, Rue Sainte Croix de la Bretonnerie, Rue Vieille du Temple, Rue des Rosiers, Rue Ferdinand Duval, Traversée de la rue de Rivoli, Rue de Rivoli, Place de l'Hôtel de Ville, Avenue Victoria, Boulevard Sébastopol. Arrival at the Place du Châtelet is about 18 o’clock.
The motto of the "Carnival of Women", as usual: "Women in suits queens and men in women ... if they dare!"

Paris Book Fair

Dates: March 20 – 23, 2020.

International Book Fair in Paris (Salon du Livre) is designed for lovers of books and literature and for professionals. It is one of the most important book fairs in the world. The exhibition will feature both large and small publishers from many countries. Meetings with writers, publishers and designers will be organized at the exhibition. Part of the time, it will be reserved for professionals only.

Marathon de Paris

Date: April 05, 2020.

The Paris marathon is one of the most famous marathons in the world (along with marathons in New York, London, Berlin and Chicago). The famous 42 195 meters kilometers distance (26 miles 385 yards) goes through the many beautiful streets of the city, passing many iconic sights. Maximum number of participants is limited to 50 thousand people. The Paris Marathon is a unique opportunity for sports fans to get acquainted with this famous city.
The competition start is located on the Avenue des Champs-Elysees. Marathon route passes through the streets of the city: Place de la Concorde, Rue de Rivoli, Louvre, Place de la Bastille, Boulevard Soult, Bois de Vincennes, Rue de Charenton, along the Seine, Bois de Boulogne, Avenue Foch. The finish is located on the Avenue Foch. Start of run will be held approximately at 8:45.

Run Experience

April 2-4, 2020.
The Salon du Running will be known as Run Experience.
The exhibition for jogging lovers is held in cooperation with the Paris Marathon. There are many interesting exhibits at the show for running and sports fans: equipment, accessories, advice and services.

Night of Museums in Paris

May 16, 2020.

Night of Museums (Nuit des Musees) will be held in the capital of France May 18, 2019. Some of the museums will be opened longer (at night, until midnight and maybe longer) at this day. It is possible to visit the museum for those who can not make time to visit the museum on other days. Night of Museums always attracts especially young people. Access is free to permanent collections in many museums at this day.

Paul McCartney concert

May 26, 2020.
Paul McCartney announced that he will play in Paris La Défense Arena on May 26, 2020. The tour is called "FRESHEN UP".

Paris Tropical Carnival

Dates: July --, 2020.

Paris and Ile-de-France Tropical Carnival are held in Paris annually. The festival devoted the culture of the Caribbean Sea countries. Singers, dancers and musicians will make their way through the streets of Paris on foot or aboard decorated floats. They will be dressed in colorful costumes of the southern countries. Music and colorful costumes will create a festive atmosphere. Miss Tropical Carnival 2017 will be chosen on the festival. The carnival is a wonderful celebration of cultural diversity and freedom.

Bastille Day

July 14, 2020.

It is main national holiday in France. A military parade will be held on the Champs Elysees at the Bastille Day. The parade will begin at 10:00 next to the Arc de Triumph (Place Charles de Gaulle Square) and runs to Place de la Concorde square. France president, government and foreign ambassadors are on the square. On the Place de la Concorde square, in front of the Arc de Drum will be constructed places for viewers. A big firework will be held near the Eiffel Tower at the Champ de Mars in evening.

Lollapalooza Paris

Dates: July 18-19, 2020.

Lollapalooza is an annual music festival that was first held in Chicago (USA), and is now held in many countries of the world.
For visitors with children - Kidzapalooza. This is a space entirely dedicated to families where parents and children can share experiences in the spirit of Lollapalooza.

Tour de France 2020 finish

July 19, 2020.

The finish of the famous cycling race Tour de France will occur July 19, 2019. This year the race will be held from June 27 to July 19. Start of the race (Grand Depart) will take place in Nice (Nice Moyen Pays). The finish of the race will be on the Champs Elysee in Paris.

"Rock en Seine" festival

August ---, 2020.

Summer Festival "Rock en Seine" is held in Paris annually. The first festival was held in 2003. It is possible to hear not only rock music, but the music and other genres at the festival. A special program will is organized for children. In 2013, the festival was visited by 11,000 people. The scene is set in the Saint-Cloud Park.

“Maison & Objet” design show

Dates: September 04 - 08, 2020.

"Maison & Object" is one of the most popular exhibitions for professionals in design, decor and interior decoration in the world. New items for the design of housing, houses and apartments will be presented at the exhibition. The latest works of the best designers will be shown at the exhibition: decorative objects, textiles, tableware, furniture and more.
It is dedicated for professionals only. Using the image recording devices (mobile phone, camera) in the exhibitions without prior written permission is prohibited.
Next exhibition "Maison & Objet" will be held in January 2020. Exhibitions are also held in Singapore and Miami.

Design Week in Paris

Design Week is a kind of extension of the MAISON & OBJET exhibition. A large number of events will be organized during Design Week in various parts of the city. Events will be interesting for designers, architects, artists, and all those who are interested in modern design trends. Beginner designers can demonstrate their ideas. More than 150 sites will be involved in Paris.

Techno Parade is the techno music and dance festival in Paris. The festival is organized by Technopol association. The aim of the festival is promotion of the French electronic music, modern electronic music to the general public (and mostly free). Parade will be held 12:00 - 19:00. (Route of the last year was: Boulevard du Temple, Boulevard Beaumarchais, place de la Bastille, Rue de Lyon, Av. Ledru-Rollin, pont d'Austerlitz, Boulevard de l'Hopital, place d'Italie.) Parade route length is up to 6 kilometers.

Paris Motor Show

Dates: October 01 - 11, 2020.

Paris Motor Show (Mondial de l'Automobile) is held in Paris Expo exhibition center once every two years in the autumn. It is one of the most prominent auto shows in the world. Automobile Exhibition in Paris in 1898 was the first automobile exhibition in the world. A lot of automobile innovations, new models, new forms of design and new technologies is shown to the public at the Motor Show in Paris. It is interesting event for car lovers.

Venue: Paris Expo. Address: Place de la Porte de Versailles, Paris, France. The fairgrounds can be reached by metro (line 12 and 8), trams and T3 T2, buses number 39 and 80.

Nuit Blanche

October --, 2020.

The annual festival "Nuit Blanche" will be held in Paris on Saturday night in October 2020. More than fifty participants from many countries will present their shows in different parts of Paris. Light shows, concerts, street performances will be held in the evening and during the night. The event will take place at multiple sites along the Seine River. Guiding: le Musée du Quai Branly, le Pavillon de l'Arsenal, le Petit Palais, le Théâtre du Châtelet, la Monnaie de Paris, ou encore l'École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts. Exhibition of antique cars

October 10 – 11, 2020.

"Automedon" exhibition of antique cars will take place in Paris 12 and 13 October, 2019 (changes are possible.). About 2,000 cars are expected at the exhibition. A hall area is about 20,000 m². An open air area is 5,000 m² large. It is exhibition for true car lovers. It is open from 9:00 to 19:00. Ticket price is 13 Euro. Children under 14 years for free.

Wine Festival in Montmartre

Dates: October ---, 2020.

The Wine Festival is held on Montmartre annually. It is the harvest festival. Local wine producers organize a big celebration of wine in mid-October (Montmartre Harvest Festival, Vendages de Montmartre) in the 18th arrondissement of Paris. The festival will take place near the Church of Sacré-Coeur. A wine and food tasting, music, parade and fireworks will be held at the festival.

International travel and tourism shows

Dates: October 22 – 25, 2020.

IFTM (International French travel market) is travel and tourism trade show in France. It is held annually at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.
IFTM Top Resa is a 4-day international tourism industry show held in Paris. It is dedicated to everyone involved in outbound tourism (foreign local partners, hospitality providers, foreign destinations, transport operators, tour operators, technology developers, etc.).
There is also 2-day MAP Pro French tourism industry show for everyone involved in inbound tourism.

International Contemporary Art Fair

Dates: October 22 – 25, 2020.

International Contemporary Art Fair in Paris (FIAC) is held each fall in Paris. It is one of the most significant events of contemporary art in the world. The exhibition is held at the Grand Palace and some other places. The fair main place is the Grand Palais. There are also exhibitions at the Jardin des Tuileries, Jardin des Plantes, the Place Vendôme, Esplanade des Invalides. Three thousand artists from around the world will present their works, their views on contemporary art. The event will bring together 180 galleries from 24 countries.

Wine tasting in the Carrousel du Louvre

Wine tasting “LE GRAND TASTING” will be held in the “Carrousel du Louvre”. The event will feature leading wine producers of France. Wines of famous brands, as well as related products (cheeses, shellfish, meat) will be presented at the event. Vine lovers can also visit master classes for tasters.

Christmas illumination on the Champs Elysées

The end of November 2020 - the beginning of January 2021.

🎄 Christmas lights on the Champs Elysees will be switched on around November 25th. The lights will decorate Paris until about January 9, 2021. The inclusion of Christmas illumination is scheduled for 18:00.
The protagonist of the ceremony this year will be the actress Ludivine Sagnier.

New Year Eve celebrating in Paris

🎆 It may be a great idea to celebrate the New Year in Paris. Where is best place to go to a New Year's Eve? Avenue des Champs Elysees is the most popular place. Thousands of people come here on 31 December (after 21 pm), to open a bottle of wine and to congratulate each other a happy new year. Beautifully decorated the Eiffel Tower is well visible from here. There are enough places where you can to eat and to dance nearby. (There are recommendations to beware of pickpockets.)
The area near the Sacré-Coeur (The Sacre Coeur Cathedral plaza) in Montmartre is also a popular meeting place for the New Year in Paris. Colorful, festive parade is usually held on January 1st in Paris, in Montmartre. "BonneAnnee!" (Happy New Year!)

International Exhibition of diving equipment

Chinese New Year

The new year according to the Chinese calendar will begin on February 12, 2021 (Year of the Rat 鼠) and end on February 1, 2022 (year of the bull). New Year Celebration will take place in two weeks. Paris Air Show in Le Bourget

Dates: June 21-27. 2021.

It is one of the largest air shows in the world. It takes place every two years at the airport of Le Bourget (12 km northeast of Paris).
The first 4 days (from Monday to Thursday) are reserved for professionals.
The general public has access to the event from Friday to Sunday.
