New metro station "Admiralteyskaya" was opened in Saint Petersburg

New metro station “Admiralteyskaya” opened today in St. Petersburg. This station is very much needed by tourists. Many attractions of Saint Petersburg are located near the new metro station. The Palace Square, the Hermitage, the Admiralty, St. Isaac's Cathedral, "Astoriya" hotel are less than 500 meters from the subway station Admiralteyskaya. The station is located on the subway fifth line between stations “Sadovaya” and “Sportivnaya”. The station exit is located at the corner of “Kirpicni Pereulok” and “Malaya Morskaya” streets.

Metro station is located at a depth of 86 meters. This is the deepest subway station in St. Petersburg and one of the deepest in the world. The decoration station devoted to the marine theme. Underground hall built by the architect A. Konstantinov. The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak and St. Petersburg Governor Georgy Poltavchenko.

In 2012 planned to open two new metro stations in Saint Petersburg: "Mezdunarodnaya" and "Bucharestskaya".
