Peter and Paul Fortress is the historical center of Saint Petersburg. The fortress construction beginning day is considered as the St. Petersburg foundation day. On the territory of the fortress is located the Peter and Paul Cathedral, which houses the tomb of Peter the Great. Near “Peter and Paul fortress” are held many city events. There are also a zoo and a museum of artillery near the fortress.
