Year of the foundation of FC Zenit is considered 1925. At that time it was a team at the Leningrad Metal Plant named after Stalin. Since 1936 the club was named “Stalinets”. Since 1940 sports club get its present name – “Zenit” (Зенит).

FC Zenit Academy was established in September 2009. The football sports school taught children aged from seven years.
