The “Red Tower” (Kizil Kule) is one of the main attractions of Alanya. It is located in the central part of the city, near the city's fortress and the old shipyard. To get to the “Red Tower” is possible walking on foot from harbor in a few minutes. Red Tower is clearly visible also in popular tourist boat tours.
The tower was built to defend the city. Construction of the tower was completed in 1226. Height of the building is 33 meters, diameter - 29 meters, the length of each wall - 12.5 meters. The tower is a symbol of the city. Picture of the tower was used on Turkish lira banknotes in 1992 - 2005 years. The photo depicts the tower view from the sea.
