Kiyevsky railway station

Kievsky railway station (Киевский вокзал, also Moscow Kiyevskaya railway station) is one of the 9 Moscow railway stations, passenger terminal of the Moscow Kiyevskaya station. The station serves long-distance trains, following in the western and south-western directions of Russia, as well as international trains. Station connects Moscow with Ukraine and Moldova. The station provides connections to Rome (Italy), Istanbul (Turkey), Athens (Greece), Vienna, Sofia, Budapest, Prague, Bucharest and Belgrade.

Kievsky railway station in Moscow is located approximately 3.5 kilometers to the west of the Red Square. The station building is located on the "Kievskogo Voksala" square, near the intersection of the streets Kiyevskaya, Dorogomilovskaya and Berezhkovskaya embankment. The total area of the Kievsky (Kiyevsky) station, more than 36 thousand square meters.

The railroad was opened connecting the cities of Moscow and Bryansk August 1, 1899. The first post and passenger train went from Moscow to Bryansk. In 1912, funds were allocated for the new station building construction.
The current station building was constructed in years 1914 - 1918. The “Bryansky Voksal” railway station was renamed in “Kievsky Voksal” in 1934.

Kievsky station is connected to Vnukovo International Airport by Aeroexpress trains.
