Museum of Space and Rockets in Saint Petersburg is located in the Peter and Paul Fortress. In 1932 - 1933 years in “Ioanovski Ravelin” of fortress was located first in the USSR research laboratory (Gas Dynamics Laboratory) which was engaged in the creation of jet engines and missiles. It conducted research, design and testing of jet engines. Work carried out here later led to missiles and space flights.

The Space and Rockets museum has samples of missiles, documents and equipment. Here you can see genuine lander spacecraft "Soyuz- 16", the suits of astronauts, cosmonauts foodstuffs, “Lunokhod” machinery and space stations model. Missiles can be also seen at the nearby Museum of artillery.
