“Erarta” contemporary art museum is considered as the largest private museum of contemporary art in Russia. The museum was opened in 2010. Museum name “Erarta” is a combination of two words - Era and Arta, and carries the meaning of "Art time". In 2013, the “Erarta” art museum was named in the list of the 10 best museums in Russia by popular tourist site “TripAdvisor”. It is located in Saint Petersburg.
The main part of the project is the museum of contemporary art "Erarta". The museum has collected more than 2,300 works created by Russian artists in the second half of the 20th century and in 21st century. The museum features both traditional museums artistic works (painting, drawing, sculpture), and new kinds of creativity, such as art installations and other. Museum collaborates with contemporary artists. Besides the museum, the project also includes commercial galleries, a workshop, publishing and educational programs, as well as various cultural events and activities.
What will be art in the future? Nobody can know for sure. Art of the future is being created just now. To support artists and to search for new directions of development in art “Erarta” museum creates own creative projects. Perhaps just now in the Museum of Modern Art, it is possible to see works which will be considered as best masterpieces, classics in the future.
