June 22, 2006 IOC President Jacques Rogge of the seven applications claiming named the three candidate cities. They are Sochi, Salzburg and Pyeongchang. All three cities have worked hard to become a winner. 4 July 2007 in Guatemala took place, the 119 th Session of IOC, which has been selected the host city of the 2014 Olympics. This city became the city of Sochi, Russia.
