Cathedral of Our Lady of Kazan in Moscow is located in the heart of the city, on the Red Square. The church is located in the northern part of the square next to the Historical Museum, in front of the Mint, at the corner of Red Square and Nikolskaya street.
The church was built in 1636 on the site of an earlier wooden church. Church many times I completed and rebuilt.
In 1936 the church was demolished, like many other churches in the USSR.
In 1990-1993 on the initiative of the Moscow city branch of the All-Russian protection of monuments of history and culture of society the church was restored.
