Valencia transport

Valencia can be reached by various means of transport: airplane, railway, bus or sea transport. The choice depends on the place of your departure and your preferences.

Valencia Airport

Airport Valencia Airport (VLC) is located about 8 kilometers west of the city. It is also known as Manises Airport. This is the tenth airport in Spain by the number of passengers served. In 2016, the airport served about 5.79 million passengers.

The airport is connected to the city by bus routes and two metro lines.
The bus is the cheapest way to get from the airport to the center of Valencia.

  • The city bus of the route 150 (Metrobus) runs between the airport and the center of the city of Valencia (park Parque de Cabecera), with intermediate stops in Mislata, Quart de Poblet and Manises. The journey takes about 45 minutes.
  • The Aerobus shuttles follow the direct route between the airport and the city center. Route: Airport (departure area) - Avenida del Cid (opposite the police station) - Calle Bailen - Calle Angel Guimera - Avenida del Cid - Airport departures. The journey takes about 20 minutes.

Two metro lines connect the airport with the city center and the port. You need to go to the Xativa station if you want to get to the city center or to the North Station. A trip by subway costs a little more than a bus.

Line 3: Rafelbunyol - Aeroport. Line 3 runs between the airport and the city center, the university district and the northern metropolitan area. The station is on the first floor of the regional flight terminal.
Line 5: Aeroport - Marítim Serrería. Line 5 runs from the airport to the city center and the port of Valencia.

North Station

Valencia can be reached by train from many cities in Europe. The northern railway station (Estación del Norte, Estació del Nort) is the main railway station of Valencia. The station is located in the city center, next to Plaza de Toros de Valencia. The distance from the station to the Town Hall is about 200 meters. The nearest metro station is Xàtiva. The distance from the station to the port is 4 kilometers.

Port

Regular passenger transportation to the Balearic Islands is performed from the port of Valencia. The port also receives a large number of cruise ships that bring tourists to Valencia from different countries.
Tourists can get to the city center from the port by the metro (the nearest station is Marítim - Serrería), bus (lines 2, 3, 4, 19, 30) or taxi. You can walk from the port to the city center along Avenida del Puerto Street (distance more than 4 kilometers).

Considering the great distance between the port and the city center, most cruise lines provide a bus to their customers (for free or for a fee). Most buses go to Plaça De L'Ayuntamient square (in the historic center of the city).

You can book a taxi from the airport and the port of Valencia online (from your computer or smartphone).
