Americans buy the most tickets to Russia for the 2018 FIFA World Cup

Football World Cup 2018 will be held in the summer in Russia. Statistics of ticket sales has been published recently. As of the beginning of April, most Americans buy tickets to Russia (among foreigners).

Countries in which the most tickets were bought as of April 2: Russia - 216,134, the USA - 16,462, Argentina - 15,006, Colombia - 14,755, Mexico - 14,372, Brazil - 9,962, Peru - 9,766, China - 6,598, Germany - 5,974, Australia - 5,905 and India - 4,509.

As you can see from the statistics, US residents still occupy the first place among foreigners who bought tickets. Residents of the northern and southern Americas also occupy the first five places. Also, many people from China, Germany and Australia will come to Russia.

The Football World Cup 2018 will be held in 11 cities in Russia: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Volgograd, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Saransk, Rostov-on-Don, Sochi, Yekaterinburg. Cities and stadiums are located at a huge distance from each other.

You can move between cities by plane or by rail. Fans of football who purchase tickets for the World Cup matches can get free train tickets (in some cases).

How to get from the USA to Russia? There are two options: by sea or by airplane. (You can also get to Moscow and St. Petersburg by train and bus from Helsinki.)

If you decide to make a trip to Moscow from New York by plane, then you will fly a distance of 2 903 miles. The time of flight from New York to Moscow by direct flight (depending on the airline) is from 9.45 minutes to 10.40 minutes.
