Lyon, France

Lyon is the third most populous city in France. It is also among the most visited cities in France. But about 60% of people come to Lyon for business purposes, and not for recreation. Lyon is one of the most attractive cities for living in France.

Lyon is located in the south-east of France, at the confluence of two rivers, the Rhone and Saône. The distance from Paris is 392 kilometers (292 miles) by rail, 320 kilometers (200 miles) from Marseille, and 150 kilometers from Geneva. The Alps are located east of Lyon. Many popular ski resorts are available in the mountains. Ski lovers often get to the ski resorts through Lyon.

Lyon Airport (Lyon – Saint Exupéry Airport, IATA: LYS) is located approximately 20 kilometers (13 miles) southeast of the city center.
Tourists can get from the airport to Lyon by tram or bus.
The Rhônexpress tram connects the airport with Lyon Part-Dieu station. The cost of the ticket is approximately € 15 (2018).

Buses connect the airport to many cities, including Lyon. Buses also go to the most popular ski resorts in the winter from the airport.

Lyon Part-Dieu is Lyon’s main railway station. The station is located on the railway line Paris - Marseille. Address: 5, Place Charles Béraudier 69003 Lyon. Metro Station: Gare Part-Dieu - Vivier Merle.

Gare de Lyon-Perrache station serves mainly regional trains. The station is located about 3 kilometers from Lyon Part-Dieu station. There is also a bus station at Gare de Lyon-Perrache.
