Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe. This is the fifth most visited city in Europe, after London, Paris, Istanbul and Rome. Where to start the first walk in Prague

If you intend to explore the city on your own, (as an option) come by the red metro line to the Muzeum station. You will come to Wenceslas Square (Václavské náměstí) to the National Museum. View of the entire area opens from the museum. Walk through the square, and then along the Na Můstku and Melantrichova streets, go to the Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí). Look at the Tyn Church and the Town Hall. From the Town Hall go to the Charles Bridge along Karlova Street (follow the signs and crowds of tourists movements). Crossing the river over the bridge, you can walk up to Prague Castle. This will be enough to start. The length of the pedestrian route from the National Museum to Charles Bridge is approximately 1.7 kilometers.

Transportation

Prague has a well-functioning public transport. Prague's city transport includes: metro, tram and bus. If necessary, you can take a taxi. You can also rent a car (you can choose and book in advance).

Václav Havel International Airport (Letiště Václava Havla Praha) is located in the "Prague 6" area, about 15 kilometers from the city center. The airport has 4 terminals.

There are several options for getting from the airport to the place you need by public transport.
To get to the center of Prague, you can take the bus number 119 (Terminal 1 / Terminal 2 - Nádraží Veleslavín), get to the metro station "Nádraží Veleslavín" by bus, and go to metro line A.

Useful tip You can also take a taxi. This is convenient if you have large luggage or if you are traveling with children. Taxis can be booked in advance online.

Pardubice Airport (Letiště Pardubice, code: PED) is located about 120 kilometers from the center of Prague. Many charter flights arrive at this airport.
To get from Pardubice Airport to Prague, you need: walk to the bus stop (about 800 meters from the terminal), get to Pardubice Train Station (many flights, for example buses 8.88, 23), get to Prague by train.

The central railway station (Praha hlavní nádraží) is located in the central part of the city, about one kilometer from the Old Town Square. Address: Wilsonova 300/8, Praha 2.
