Qatar is a Muslim country, and tourists should behave in accordance with local traditions, so as not to look like an ill-mannered person and not create unnecessary problems for themselves. Locals expect tourists (both men and women) to show respect for the local culture.
For example, a few general recommendations.
Attitudes towards clothing in Qatar are relaxed, but excessively revealing clothing in public should be avoided. Both men and women are advised to cover their shoulders and knees with clothing.
Open display in public of close personal relationships is condemned.
You should not appear in public places in a state of intoxication.
Smoking is prohibited in all public places.
All business activities cease during Friday morning prayers (around 10:00 - 12:00).
The 2022 FIFA World Cup will be held this year, from November 20 to December 18, 2022 in Qatar. The matches of the 2022 FIFA World Cup will be held at 8 stadiums, in the cities of Doha, Al-Khaur, El-Wakra, Khalifa, Ahmed bin Ali, Lusail, Education City Stadium. The final match will take place on December 18, 2022 at the National Stadium in Lusail.
