Air traffic between Finland and Cyprus is being resumed. Norwegian and Finnair airlines reported on the implementation of direct flights between Helsinki and Larnaca.
Cyprus Minister of Transport and Communications Yiannis Karousos said that "We are pleased to see the resumption of communication between Finland and Cyprus. This year (2022) we have five flights a week from Finland to Larnaca, two of which will be operated by Finnair." It is planned that in August this year, Cyprus will receive 758 flights per week from different countries.
Finnair is expected to bring about 4,500 Finnish tourists to Cyprus in the summer of 2022.
Cyprus aims to attract more tourists and make tourists stay longer in Cyprus and come back again. To do this, it is planned to represent Cyprus not only as a place for a beach holiday. It is planned to develop sports tourism, gastronomic and wine tours, nature trails. Cyprus is also looking for something to offer tourists in winter.
It is also stated that work will be carried out to make Finland a popular destination for Cypriots.
