The Imereti Lowland is located southeast of the center of the city of Adler, between the Mzymta and Psou rivers. (There is Abkhazia Beyond the Psou River.) The length of this section of the coast is approximately 7 kilometers.

Now it is a popular place for summer holidays in Adler. But, this area was little known to tourists before the 2014 Olympics. For the Olympic Games, the Olympic Park with stadiums and many hotels was built here.

Promenade and view of the Olympic Park

The Imeretinsky resorts area has some advantages for tourists compared to the center of Adler and the Adler resort town: there are new, modern hotels, the beaches are not disfigured by breakwaters, there are a lot of young people and (as it seemed to me) the water is cleaner. The beach is pebbly.

But, on the other hand, I got the impression that it is somehow uncomfortable here, a lot of stone and little greenery (but these are just personal impressions, and perhaps many trees will grow here soon).

Embankment in the Imereti resort

Getting to the hotels of the Imeretinskaya Valley is not difficult at all by bus, both from the airport and from the Adler railway station. (And, of course, it is possible by taxi.) The distance from the airport to the distant parts of the Imeretinskaya lowland is about 14 kilometers, to the center of Adler - 10 km.

The Olympic Park is the most famous attraction of the Imereti resort. The light and music show at the fountain in the Olympic Park is (in my opinion) the only thing worth visiting this place.
