Santo Domingo Carnival Parade 2024 will be held March 3

Carnival is a beautiful, colorful, crowded event. Go to the carnival in the Dominican Republic.

Traditional Carnaval Dominicano will take place in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) on March 3 in 2024. A colorful carnival procession will take place along the Malecon embankment in Santo Domingo (Malecón de Santo Domingo). More than 140 troupes and characters from different provinces of the country will take part in the parade. The event will start at 14:00. Many carnival events will take place in the Dominican Republic in February (10 - 13), but the “National Parade” is the largest and most colorful.

Carnival Market is also usually held on these days at the monument to Fray Antonio de Montesinos. In 2024, this event will probably take place on March 2 and 3 (no confirmed information yet).

Carnivals are usually held also in other cities of the Dominican Republic. The Santo Domingo Carnival is the biggest in the country, and the most accessible for tourists. The official event is called the National Carnival Parade and usually happens on the first Sunday of March.

The Vegano Carnival is one of the most colorful local carnivals in the Dominican Republic. The name "vegan" refers to the province in which the event is celebrated, right in the center of the northern part of the country; just two hours from Santo Domingo (the Capital) and four hours from Punta Cana.
Dates for 2024 have not yet been announced, but perhaps it will be: February 4 - 11 - 18 in La Vega and last day (last) February 24, 2024 in Santo Domingo.

Choose a resort in the southern part of the country, for example, Boca Chica. This will make it easier for you to get to Santo Domingo.

If you are flying to the Dominican Republic specifically for the carnival, we recommend choosing a place to stay closer to Malecón de Santo Domingo. For example, Malecon Center hotel (located at Avenida George Washington).
