December is the most popular time for vacation in Hawaii. Don't limit yourself to just visiting the beaches! The Festive Season is filled with Christmas spirit and interesting events. Information on some exciting events scheduled to take place on Oahu in December 2023.

Honolulu guided tours.

Wahiawā Town Santa Parade.
Friday, December 1, 2023.
The parade will start from Kaala Elementary at 6:30pm, going up California Avenue, and ending at North Cane Street.
Wahiawā Town is located in the central part of the island, approximately 20 miles from Honolulu.

First Friday Art Walk.
December 1, 2023.
First Friday is a monthly event held in Chinatown Honolulu on the first Friday of each month. Shops, bars, art galleries offer something interesting for visitors on this day. Come to see the main events between 5 and 9 pm if you're in Honolulu that day. First Friday will have a holiday theme in December.
The Hawaii State Art Museum is getting in on the action, too. The museum opens its doors for free entry for the whole family on this day.

Honolulu City Lights.
December 02, 2023.
The Honolulu Holiday Lighting Ceremony will begin at 5:30PM. Honolulu City Lights will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on the Frank F. Fasi Civic Center Grounds and will run through December 29, 2023. The Public Workers' Electric Light Parade The parade will travel down King Street, from River Street to Kawaihao Street. Departure at approximately 18:00.

Jingle Rock Run 2023.
Sunday, December 3, 2023.
This is an annual charity event at Ko Olina Resort. The event starts at 3:00pm. Keiki Sprint - 4:00pm; Jingle Rock Run starts at 5:00pm. Come celebrate the holiday season while giving the greatest gift to children with critical illnesses: the gift of hope. There will be live entertainment and at the festival grounds. Enjoy the sunset at Ko Olina's lagoon.

National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.
December 7, 2023.
The attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 was a turning point in world history. The struggle for freedom, democracy, and human rights continues.

Waimea Bay Opening Ceremony.
December 8, 2023.
🏄 This is an opportunity for you to see the best surfers. The Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational is a big wave surfing tournament held at Waimea Bay on the north shore of Oahu, Hawaii. The Eddie Big Wave Invitational will run from December 14, 2023 through March 12, 2024, but only on days when wave heights consistently reach 40 feet.
The world famous Turtle Bay Resort is a destination for surf lovers on the North Shore.

Honolulu Marathon.
Date: December 10, 2023.
The Honolulu Marathon is the fourth largest marathon in the United States. Come and see if you are hesitant to participate.Start Location: Ala Moana Boulevard/Queen Street Extension
Finish Location: Kapiolani Park.
The 10k distance race starts at the same time and place as the full Honolulu Marathon and finishes into the marathon course in Kapiolani Park.

Hawaii Kai Boat Parade.
Saturday, December 16, 2023.
Festival of Lights Christmas Boat Parade.
Christmas in Hawaii is completely different from the usual White Christmas with snow and frost. These are completely different emotions.
If you're planning a vacation to Oahu in December, don't miss The Festival of Lights Christmas Boat Parade. This is a great, fun, truly Hawaiian festival.
Venue: Head to Hawaii Kai Marina. Distance from Honolulu is approximately 10 miles.

The Nutcracker ballet.
December 16-17, 2023.
See the Nutcracker ballet. The performance will be presented by Ballet Hawaii. In our opinion, this performance can bring real pleasure.
Venue: Neal S. Blaisdell Arena (Neal S. Blaisdell Center).
Location: Downtown Honolulu, Oahu.

December 25, 2023.
🎄 We can't offer you anything to do on Christmas Day yet. Spend this day with your family, your loved ones, go to the beach, to a restaurant, take a walk through Chinatown in Honolulu.

New Year's Eve.
December 31, 2023.
Where to celebrate New Year 2024 on Oahu? No need to travel far from your hotel. Celebrate the New Year with your family or friends where you feel most comfortable. Probably every resort will prepare something interesting for its guests.
If you're vacationing in Honolulu, you can watch the New Year's Eve fireworks display over Waikiki Beach (December 31st at midnight).

Royal Hawaiian Band Free performance.
Add fun to your vacation - attend a free concert!
The Royal Hawaiian Orchestra performs one-hour concerts several times a month, at the end of each work week. (The concert takes place provided there is no rain.)
This could be happening Friday at Iolani Palace. (Address: 364 S. King Street, Honolulu, HI 96813.) Sunday - at Kapiolani Park (address: 2805 Monsarrat Ave, Honolulu, Oahu, HI 96815).
