If you decide to go to Times Square on New Year's Eve, it would be a good idea to find a place to stay in Manhattan, closer to the square, within walking distance of Times Square.
We decided to check how much it costs to book a room for New Year's Eve (December 31, 2023 - January 1, 2024) in the hotels closest to Times Square, and share the information with you.
But it seems that we are a little late. The rooms in the best and most comfortable hotels were already occupied.
- New York Marriott Marquis (the hotel is located right on Times Square) - there are no rooms available, the hotel is fully booked.
- W New York - Times Square (the hotel is located right on Times Square) - there are no rooms available, the hotel is fully booked.
- Tempo By Hilton New York Times Square - there are no rooms available, the hotel is fully booked.
But we did not abandon the idea and slightly expanded the range of searches. (It’s not a problem to walk 5-10 minutes, right?)
Kimpton Hotel Theta, an IHG Hotel (5*). The hotel is located 0.2 miles (walking distance) from Times Square, at the intersection of 8th Avenue and 47th Street. The cost of a room for New Year's Eve 2023/2024 in this hotel (at the time of writing) was US$711 per night. (Rate US$711 per night + US$135 taxes and fees.) You may still be able to book a room at this hotel.
Paramount Hotel Times Square. (4*) The hotel is located 0.1 mile from Times Square. You still have time to book a room at this hotel. The cost of a room for New Year's Eve 2024 started from US$708. (Price US$708 + taxes and fees US$148).
Merrion Row Hotel and Public House (4*). This hotel also had rooms available. The hotel is approximately 0.1 mile from Times Square (119 West 45th Street, New York).
You could book a room in this hotel for New Year's Eve 2023/2024 (at the time of writing) for US$1087 (US$1087 + US$208 taxes and fees). Moreover, there were only 5 available rooms at this price.
The Historic Mayfair Hotel Times Square, Ascend Hotel Collection (3*). The hotel is located 0.2 miles (walking distance) from Times Square. The cost of a room for New Year's Eve 2023/2024 was US$711 per night in this hotel (at the time of writing). (Rate US$711 per night + US$135 taxes and fees.) You may still be able to book a room at this hotel.
Why should you pay extra? It is worth expanding your search area a little and you can save a lot.

Hotel 27 by Luxurban. Hotel 27 by Luxurban is located 0.9 miles (20 minutes walk) from Times Square (62 Madison Avenue, NoMad, New York). You could book a room with a queen-size bed for New Year's Eve 2023/2024 for US$383C (US$383 + US$60 taxes and fees).
These prices were valid for about a month before New Year's Eve evening. Rooms are running out quickly.
