"Piazza Cavour" square in Rimini

Rimini Cavour square "Piazza Cavour" square is one of the most famous places in Rimini. There are several attractions for tourists on the square: Palazzo del Podesta, Palazzo Communale, Palazzo dell'Arengo, "Amintore Galli" theater, a statue of the Pope (Statua di Paolo V), Pigna fountain.

  • Arengo palace (Palazzo dell'Arengo) is one of the most famous buildings in the "Cavour Piazza" square. The building with the teeth of the Romanesque style was built in 1204.
  • "Palazzo Comunale" building (Palazzo Garampi) was built in the 16th century. The building was destroyed by an earthquake in 1672 and rebuilt in 1687 by Francesco Garampi.
  • "Palazzo del Podestà" palace was built шт aищге 1330. Elected city governor residence was located in the palace.
  • Pigna fountain (pine cone, Fontana della Pigna) is one of the most famous objects in the Piazza Cavour. It was built during the Roman Empire and completely restored in 1543. Fountain repaired and modified several times since then. For a long time it was the only source of drinking water in Rimini.

It is believed that written proof of this fountain left Leonardo da Vinci 5 August 1502.
