Art Deco Weekend 2018

Art Deco Weekend is an annual festival, held in Miami Beach in January. The event is visited by about 150 thousand people annually. Many interesting events take place on the street Ocean Drive for three days. Entrance to the festival grounds is free. Art Deco Weekend will be held from 12 to 14 January in 2018. The theme of the festival in 2018 is: Art Deco around the World.

The Art Deco District is an area in Miami Beach. A large number of buildings, monuments of architecture, which were built between 1923 and 1943, remained in this area. They give a special charm to this district of the city.

The Art Deco District is bounded by the Atlantic Ocean to the east, Lenox Court to the west, 6th Street to the south and Dade Boulevard along the Collins Canal in the north. The most famous street here is the Ocean Drive.

The Art Deco Weekend Festival is held on the initiative of Miami Design Preservation League (The Miami Design Preservation League's Art Deco Weekend).
The Miami Design Preservation League (MDPL) is a non-profit organization that aims to preserve the architectural, cultural, social and environmental integrity of Miami Beach and the surrounding area. It was founded in 1976.

How to get to Ocean Drive

Miami International Airport (MIA) is located about 8,1 miles (13 kilometers) northwest of downtown Miami. Passenger and freight flights to the cities of America, Europe and Asia are carried out from the airport.
The most convenient and cheapest ways to get to the airport (from the airport) are Metrorail and Metrobus (bus). The Miami Airport Flyer Bus 150 runs from the airport to Miami Beach (South Beach). The journey takes about 30 minutes.
