Metro Station Avtovo in St. Petersburg is located in the southwestern part of the city, near the intersection of Prospect Stachek street with Avtovskaya and Portovaya streets. The station is located at a distance approximately 8.2 kilometers southwest of the Palace Square. The distance to the Ring Road is about 3.5 kilometers.
The Avtovo metro station is located on Kirovsko-Vyborgskaya line of Petersburg metro (line 1, red line) between stations "Kirovsky Zavod" and "Leninsky Prospect". The station was opened 15 November 1955. The station vestibule is located between houses №94 and №90 on Prospect Stachek street. The station underground hall located at a depth 12 meters. Entry and exit of passengers carried by the stairs (there are not escalators).
There was an Autovo village in this area before. Later, the area became known as the city district Avtovo. This explains the choice of the station name.
Station "Avtovo" often name among the most beautiful subway stations in St. Petersburg. There were used plates made of cast glass in station hall design. The inner surface of the glass plates has a relief pattern.
