Saint Petersburg "Pulkovo" airport

The "Pulkovo" St. Petersburg airport (Аэропорт Пулково) is located just south of the city, at a distance approximately 5 kilometers from the city. The airport serves internal and international air flights. In 2015, the airport handled 13.5 million passengers. (Airport ranks forth place among Russian airports by number of passengers, after the Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo and Vnukovo.)

Pulkovo Airport passenger terminal is serving passengers of both international and domestic flights. The airport also has Pulkovo-3 terminal, which services business aviation passengers.

Until 2014, the "Pulkovo" airport has 2 terminals: Pulkovo-1 and Pulkovo-2. After completion of the new terminal Pulkovo-2 terminal was closed. The nearest major international airports are located in Helsinki (301 km) and Tallinn (309 kilometers). The distance to the city center (Palace Square) is approximately 20 kilometers.

The "Pulkovo" airport foundation day is considered June 24, 1932. On this day, was put into operation located near St. Petersburg airfield. • The "Pulkovo" airport passenger terminal can be reached by bus routes number 39 and K-39 from the metro station "Moskovskaya". Buses run every 10 to 30 minutes. This is the cheapest way to get to the airport. (The buses do not go at night.)
• The passenger terminal has a taxi service. A large number of taxis drivers are constantly on duty at the exit of the airport.
• There are plans to build a railway line to the airport (aeroexpress) or extend the subway line to the airport. (The timing of construction is still pending.)
• The nearest metro station: Moskovskaya.
